Mickey, at Chez Rouge, gets the phone call from Bo and says he will be there and not let Caroline to answer any questions. Melanie and Nick are finishing eating. They are talking about going to see all the hot spots in Salem. Nick wants to invited Steph and Max. Melanie wants it to be just the two of them. Julie and Doug arrive at Chez Rouge and meet Mickey and Maggie. Julie wants to know who is Nick with. She says there is something about her body movements that she does not like. Mickey lets the others know what happened. They are all going to go to the station. They stop at Mel and Nick's table to let them know.
Steph and Max are making out when Mel calls to let Max know that Trent is dead. When Steph hears the news she looks on Max shirt. She looks upset. Max wants to know if she thinks he killed Trent. After a while she says no. He tells her that he had a fight with Trent at Papa Shawn's grave. He punched him in the face and that is how he got the blood and they are going down to the station.
At the police station, Roman is informed that Trent is dead and that Bo is on his way with a suspect. Roman is shocked to see Bo come in with Caroline. She has blood on her hands. Mickey and the rest from Chez Rouge arrive. Mickey wants to talk with Caroline alone before she questioned. Julie introduces herself to Melanie when she and Nick come into the station. She says she is sorry about her father. Nick later tells Melanie that she does not have to be there. She wants to stay because she wants to know what happened. She says he was an rotten man, but he was her father. They ask her to ID the body when it comes in.
Steve arrives at the grave site and meets with Hope. She asks him to continue with his investigation of Trent. Meanwhile she gets a report that shows not only did Trent have a knife in the back he had a cut lip. (flash to Max's shirt and the scratches on him, then to Nicole's fingernails and other bruises, then, cut to Nicks hand.) They also give Hope fiber that was found on him. She hopes that will lead to the killer.
Back at the police station they finish questioning Caroline. She says that she did not kill Trent. The DA has decided to press charges and they have to put Caroline in a cell. Roman offers to walk her down and he takes her to the cell she walks in and he closes the door and walks away, Roman says nothing. Max and Steph arrive at the station, everyone is upset about Caroline knowing that she did not do it. Max and Meland look at each other.
Philip and Chloe are at the Brady Pub, they are talking about her and Lucas. She misses singing and would like to do it again. Philip says that she can start singing again. She points out that his father ruined her rep with Brady. Philip points out that with Brady alive that is over. She also says that she has been busy with Lucas and helping with Ali. Philip lets her know that he was upset when she got together with Lucas. She talks about not having enough time and having to travel. Lucas arrives and overhears this. He does not want her to give up her dreams because of him and asks for Philip to help her back on track.
At the Hospital, Daniel and Kate are talking about her possible diagnosis of cancer. They talk about the fact that she does not smoke. Daniel lets her know that she will need a Biopsy. He tries to comfort her and she tells him to leave her alone. She says she will make the arrangements for the tests, but wants no one else to know. Nicole arrives at the hospital wanting to see Daniel. She still thinks it is food poisoning. Kate sees her and snarks that she thinks it may be alcohol withdraw.
Nicole is now
on a bed and has an IV. They are waiting for the results of the tests. Nicole
says she feels better,but would feel better with alcohol in the IV. Daniel
says that she is going through a double whammy. Not only is she weak from
vomiting she is also going through withdraws. He thinks she should think about
staying sober and having a clean start. They chat about their problems. Daniel
leaves. When he comes back he tells her that the test results are back and
that there is nothing wrong with her. She is pregnant. She as a shocked look
on her face. She was ready to sue the Pub for food.
TUESDAY
Sami is sitting at her laptop as Lucas walks in. She seems discouraged over
what she doing, but surprised Lucas was able to get in without knocking. He
says that the door is unlocked, he warns her about unwelcome visitors, he
is there to pick up Ali. EJ comes in and, after exchanging a few barbs with
Lucas, announces he is taking Johnny to zoo. Sami says that's too bad because
they are both down for naps. Lucas chides her for doing that, she knew he
was coming, and it is his day with Ali, he leaves to go get her. EJ wonders
what Sami is working on, and discovers it is a resume. He is impressed that
she is taking the initiative to try and get a job, but she is discouraged,
because she does not have too many skills. She starts to tell him things from
many years ago, She scored highest in her class on SAT, and took piano for
4 years. She is also an expert at forging, can forge anyone's signature with
a tiny bit of practice. This particular bit of knowledge impresses EJ... She
doubts that anyone would want to hire her to forge things.
Lucas returns with the stroller, evidently Ali is in it, asks for the diaper
bag, complains a bit about it containing cloth diapers, as EJ goes upstairs
to get Johnny. Sami tells Lucas she has been working on her resume since she
doesn't have a brother who owns a huge corporation. Lucas says something about
maybe helping out at the Pub for Caroline, she looks puzzled, he realizes
Sami does not know her grandmother is in jail. He tells her Maggie told him
today. Maggie and Mickey were at the station with Caroline. Trent Robbins
was murdered, and Caroline is the prime suspect. EJ returns with Johnny, Sami
keeps mum about the news, Lucas takes off with Ali, followed soon EJ with
Johnny,off to the Zoo.
Sami tries to call her father, but cannot get through. She hangs up in disgust. Suddenly, she sinks to her knees next to the sofa, and passes out. A few minutes later, Lucas returns, he forgot Ali's bear. He sees the unconscious Sami and tries to awaken her to no avail.
Hope rushes into
the Pub, a bit late for her date with Chelsea, who begins to moan about just
receiving her new semester packet from college. Seems she has to take Applied
Physics, with Dean Robbins, she tried to get into a different class but no
dice and babbles on and on about how awkward it will be. Hope lets her know
Trent Robbins was murdered and her grandmother Caroline is in jail as a suspect.
Chelsea cannot believe it they go back and forth mentioning Melanie as a possible
suspect.
Hope asks about her social life, Chelsea talks about having to see Daniel
at work,but it's ok. She mentions Nick, how she could have been more sensitive
when she broke up with him and no she doesn't have feelings still for him,
just friends. She wants to go talk to her dad but Hope tells her to let them
do their job. Chelsea decides to go see Theo, he probably missed her while
she was gone. She really enjoys her interaction with him.
In Max's room above the Pub, Max is getting dressed when Stephanie arrives. He is going to see his mom, he knows she did not kill Trent Robbins. He berates himself for bringing the man into all their lives, but Stephanie tries to soothe the angry waters, telling him he did a good job of cleaning up Trent messes. Stephanie says she knows he didn't kill Trent, but she has an idea who did. Melanie comes barging in, asking if Stephanie means her. She learns Max is going to see his mom, Stephanie leaves knowing she wants to talk to Max. Melanie tells Max she knows who really killed Trent, it was him, and she will keep his secret. Max is mad and tells her he thinks it was her, they argue big time. Max gives her a hard time over letting his mom who was a good to her take the fall. Melanie denies involvement.
At the police station, Roman, Bo, and Steve are going over what they know about the murder, and of course Ma did not do it. Bo doesn't think she can handle another night in jail. Abe comes in, he has heard all about Caroline. He doesn't get a chance to say much, the Mayor arrives, giving them a hard time. He thinks there might be conflict of interest, and perhaps someone more objective should handle this case. Roman assures him it is all by the book, the Mayor makes a few nasty remarks, but backs off, noting that he is watching them like a hawk. In the other room, he inquires if Abe has gotten another job yet, then offers to put him on his payroll to kept a close eye on the Brady's Boys. Abe refuses, naturally, telling the Mayor, that unlike him, he cannot be brought.
Hope arrives at the police station as the suspects are being reviewed and throws Melanie's name out there. Stephanie arrives, and wants to visit Caroline. She asks about the case, but Steve cannot talk. Bo comes up, asking Stephanie if she thinks Melanie would be capable of killing her father. Here comes Melanie again. She wants to know why Stephanie doesn't just ask her personally. Stephanie spots Max in the other office and leaves. She tells Max Melanie is with the cops, Chelsea arrives, and Max, Stephanie, Chelsea go visit Caroline. Now Melanie denies killing her father, makes a big speech about coming to Salem for a fresh start, but she would be better off staying in France. So adios everyone. Bo lets her know that as a suspect,she cannot leave town.
At the Hospital,
Lexie has brought Theo in for his session, Mark comes out to get him. She
spots Kayla and they exchange some small talk, Lexie is happy to have more
time with Theo now. Kayla tells her she was named Interim Chief of Staff.
Lexie is happy for her. Kayla worries about her time with Joe, Lexie says
just say no when things pile up. They have coffee, and Lexie fills in on who
to watch out for. Mark comes out with Theo, Chelsea arrives with a gift for
Theo, it's a snow globe,which fascinates him. Abe arrives, Chelsea leaves,
he talks a bit about what happened at the station and Mayor's offer. Both
of them complain about the Mayor,with Lexie saying she not voting for him
again.
Lexie introduces Scott, who is a board member, to Abe. Lexie takes Theo to
get an ice cream. Scott learns Abe is no longer the police commissioner, and
makes a pitch for Abe to run for Mayor. Abe is a bit taken aback, but Scott
is insistent, saying he will bankroll the campaign,and knows others who would
pitch in as well. He gives Abe his card, leaves as Lexie returns and Abe tells
her about being asked to run for Mayor.
WEDNESDAY
At the police station,Victor demands to see Caroline and tries to bully the
officer. Kayla comes into the room and tells the officer she can handle Victor.
Kayla tells Victor that his kind of help is the last thing her mother needs.
The scene cuts to a worried looking Caroline paces back and forth in her cell
when Bo comes to see her.
Victor doesn't understand Kayla attitude, but Kayla is still adamant that she doesn't need his help. She knows Victor loves Caroline but wants him to stay out of it since the DA doesn't need any more ammunition against Caroline. Victor reminds her that he loves her mother and would never do anything to intentionally hurt her. Steve comes up just as Victor walks away and wants to know what Victor wanted.
Caroline and Bo talk about her situation and she wonders if they have any other suspects. When Bo says they do, and she hopes it isn't Max. He reminds his mother how bad things look for her because she was found with a dead body and a murder weapon in her hand. He promises Caroline he will do everything he can to clear her and find something that will guarantee bail for her. Bo assures her they will find something to prove her innocence. Caroline warns Bo that if he does anything illegal this time she will turn him in herself.
Steve and Kayla are still talking about Victor wanting to help Caroline. Steve believes Victor has Caroline's best interest at heart. Kayla thinks her mother is vulnerable right now, because Pop is not around to help her. Caroline tells Bo she will get out without anything underhanded because she's innocent. She urges Bo to play it straight and not do anything to jeopardize his chance at police commissioner. He says Hope told him the same thing. Caroline knows her two sons will prove her innocence. Victor comes to see Caroline and see wants to see him alone. He says it's killing him to see her locked up like a criminal and that he had to come. Caroline jokes that she will probably be out in time to make chowder for supper. She makes Victor promise not to do anything and that he needs to stand back and let the justice system work.
Caroline begs Victor not to get involved and wonders if he believes she is innocent. He assures her that he knows she is. Caroline is sure the judge will set bail, but Victor doesn't quite believe that. He reminds her that all the evidence points to her being a murderer and that he will fix things to get her out of jail. Caroline tells Victor if he hurts someone else while trying to help her, she could never forget it. He tells her he never stopped loving her and never will. He says he lost her before and will not do it again. Victor begs Caroline to trust her if she ever loved him. She talks about how very much she loved him and how much she still cares for him. Caroline says God has never let her down and she hopes she can say the same about Victor when this is over.
Steve tells Kayla
that the police are looking very closely at Melanie as a possible suspect.
They talk about how Max also threatened to kill Trent. Steve says Nicole is
a suspect too and explains that she was still legally married to Trent. Looking
at a file Bo says this could be the break they're looking for. Bo tells Kayla
and Steve some cotton blend fibers were found on a rock and they did not match
Trent's clothing. Kayla and Bo talk about Victor and Kayla believes Victor
is trying to manipulate Caroline because of his unrequited love for her. Kayla
says Caroline can be weak where Victor is concerned.
Victor promises Caroline he will not do anything she would not approve of
and that he will still continue to look for the killer. In a very tender moment
between them, he tells Caroline it will be alright and Victor has to leave.
She looks very sad. Bo tells Kayla that Caroline's were the only fingerprints
found on the murder weapon. The DA tells Bo in a phone call that Caroline
will be charged with murder as a worried Victor looks on.
Kayla and Bo are with Caroline in the cell as Bo tells her about the final lab report and that her fingerprints were the only ones found on the murder weapon. When Caroline asks what that means Kayla tells her that the DA is going to charge her and she will have to stand trial for murder.
Outside the Pub, Nicole having a flashback to where Daniel told her that she is pregnant. She has a flashback to Colin Murphy telling her it would be very unlikely that she could become pregnant. Smiling, she says she's going to have a baby with the man she loves.
At Chez Rouge,Maggie
and EJ talk about Trent's murder and Caroline. EJ sees Philip and joins him
at his table. He asks Philip to tell Victor he doesn't have a prayer.
EJ tells Philip that his client has no intention of giving up her divorce
settlement. Philip reminds EJ that Nicole was never legally married to Victor
and she's not entitled to squat. They talk back and forth about Nicole and
Victor's marriage.
Melanie is remembering what Bo told her about being a suspect in Trent's murder and not to leave town. She overhears Maggie talking to a waiter about the influence that Victor has and Melanie seems to get an idea.
Philip's associates arrive at the table so EJ gets up and leaves the table and runs into Nicole. Philip sees Melanie staring at her and asks if he can help her. After finding out he is a Kiriakis, she tells Philip is just the man she's looking for.
In a Dream, Nicole tells EJ she was hoping she would run into him and drops the bombshell that she is pregnant. EJ asks Nicole if she is sure she's pregnant. She tells him the doctors were wrong about her not being able to have children. EJ kisses her and tells her has made him the happiest man in the world. Back to reality, EJ gets a phone call saying his meeting was canceled and he's going to take Johnny to the Zoo. Nicole says her news can wait. They make a date to meet for dinner tonight.
Melanie mistakes Philip for Victor and says she wants him to help her track down a killer. Melanie has evidently told Philip her story about Trent's murder and he wonders why she wants his help. She says his family is very powerful and they have connections. Philip tells Melanie that he is not a private investigator and neither is Victor as he walks off.
Nicole is still a jabbering when EJ kisses her on the check and says he just wanted her to stop talking. He invites her to the mansion for dinner. He admits he is curious about Nicole's news but she won't give him any hints. She tells him to prepare for a big surprise.
Lucas returns to the DiMera home for Ali's bear and finds Sami who has fainted. Lucas is still trying to awaken Sami, who finally comes to and wonders what happened. She remembers her grandmother's being in jail and wants to go to her as Lucas says he is taking Sami to the doctor.
At the Hospital, a grumbling Sami is telling the doctor she's okay. She argues with Lucas saying there's nothing wrong with her. She wants to know where Ali is. Lucas says Maggie has the baby with her. The doctor's going to run some tests. Sami and Lucas are still sparring, as usual. Sami is surprised that Lucas is worried about her and he says he never stopped caring about her because she's the mother of his kids. Sami wonders what went wrong between her and Lucas and Lucas says it wasn't a what it was a who. Sami gives the nurse a hard time for wanting to take some blood. Lucas holds her hand and stays with her.
Sami continues to argue with Lucas, as he tries to assure her Caroline will be okay. Sami makes a snide remark that Chloe may be wondering where Lucas is and talks about all the time they are spending together. He tells Sami that Chloe is going back to singing. Lucas wonders if Sami is jealous. She admits to being a little jealous and that Chloe is not right for Lucas. Lucas says he can say the same thing about Sami and EJ and she assures him that she and EJ are not still together. She talks about getting a job and taking charge of her life and says there is going to be no Sami and EJ and nothing will change that.
Lucas is proud of Sami for the plans she has about her life and about standing on her own two feet. He wishes her luck and says she strong and does not need a man to lean on,especially EJ. Lucas says he will be there for her and Sami agrees that she needs to be on her own. She wants to be someone her family can be proud of and nothing will stand in her way. The doctor gives her the happy news that she's pregnant. Sami and Lucas are shocked.
THURSDAY
Caroline is brought into Roman's office, greeted by Kayla, with Bo and Mickey
standing by too. Roman and Bo have a few more questions, realizing she was
in shock last night, lots was going on, and now want to know everything that
happened last night. Caroline tells them all of her previous encounters with
Trent, which we see in flashbacks. Her meeting him for the first time, her
him to leave the restaurant, and not come back, how she told him off after
learning of him trying to pimp out his daughter. Mickey insists all leave
the room, so he can talk to Caroline privately. When they do, he warns her
that Roman and Bo may be her sons, but they are in charge of the investigation,
and anything she says to them can and will be used against her. She understands.
In the outer room, Max comes in, greeted by Kayla who is worried about Caroline.
Max blames himself for bring Trent into all their lives with his search for
his sister,and how he is blowing off Melanie,because she accused him of killing
their father. She only cares about herself. Kayla tries to comfort him,talking
of Melanie being so young, but he tells her to even ask Stephanie. He goes
to see Caroline, talking of how guilty he feels. She tells him nothing is
his fault. He muses over fact that it almost seemed as though Trent sought
Caroline out as he was dying. Roman and Bo says that maybe Trent was trying
to tell her who stabbed him. They want her to tell them what happened that
night.
Caroline talks of the last night, the night he died. How he came into the Pub looking for Max and Melanie and how they got into quite the heated argument. Her confrontation with him and ordering him to leave. His refusal to leave his children. Trent all ready left Max as a child. He tells her he has been keeping an eye on her family all these years, and they have had a lot of troubles. Caroline retorts they worked through them, and never hurt anyone in the process. She wants him to leave, he gets up close and personal refusing. She picks up the phone to call the police but he rips it out of her hand and throws it to the side. She was frightened, grabs something out of the dirty utensil bin on the counter it was a knife and she warns him to get out or she will kill him. She tells them all she had murder in her heart at the moment but did not kill Trent.
Bo and Roman talk about how Caroline appeared to be the only one in the cemetery that night, but mass was letting out of St. Luke's and maybe someone saw Trent before he was killed. They will have to check that out. Caroline says she saw Trent with a strange look on his face, it frightened her. Mickey gets a call and goes into the outer room then returns with news. The DA has witnesses who where passing by the Pub and saw the light on,thought it was open and looked in the window and saw Caroline holding a knife on Trent. Caroline slumps in disbelief. Oh my god she says.
Nicole arrives
at the DiMera Mansion looking stunning as EJ tells her, but he has just returned
from taking Johnny to the Zoo, runs up to take a shower. Nicole notes the
beautiful table set for two, rubs her tummy, saying look what your daddy did
for us.
John comes in, realizes she there to see EJ and offers to make her a drink.
She says no because of tummy problems. John is no fool, asks what is really
going on. Nicole hems and haws around, but finally whispers that she pregnant.
John gives her congrats, wants to hear the rest of the story. She explains
she was told she probably could never have children, after taking a bullet
to her abdomen and did not care because she never liked kids especially babies,
as they seem so selfish, however, now that she having one, she happy. She
hopes this may end EJ fixation on Sami, since they will now share a child.
She wants EJ to herself, this baby has to be his #1 priority. And if it isn't,
then she will have to raise it alone and she really does not want to do that.
EJ rushes in, putting on his suit jacket, saying he sorry he late. John wishes
them well and leaves. EJ talks of the fancy dinner the cook preparing, as
he pours them both champagne,then talks of a stroll down the riverfront after
dinner to visit a new Jazz club down there. He hands her a glass, she has
the perfect toast. EJ's cell rings, it is Lucas telling him to come down to
the hospital for Sami. EJ leaves,and Nicole bemoans how once again EJ has
left her for Sami. She walks over to the fireplace. John has come in.
At the hospital,
the doctor tells Sami she is pregnant. She says it is impossible, Lucas flashes
back to walking in on Sami and EJ in bed. Lucas say now he knows exactly when
it happened. Sami is very upset, it can't be, but the doctor assures her not
only is it true, she is in her 2nd trimester. She is having a fit, it can't
be, her last period was a couple months ago, she hasn't kept track. The Doc
advises her to see her obstetrician, take her pre-natal vitamins. Lucas leaves
as Sami paces and says this cannot be. Lucas says of course it can, and wants
her to call EJ. No she doesn't want to. Lucas asks, half joking, if then,
it is someone else, because it sure as heck is not him. Sami says that of
course it is EJ,but just that one time. She moans about Stefano hearing she
carrying another DIMera heir,and giving her grief. She wanted to escaped from
the DIMera stronghold how can she do that now. Lucas wants her to call EJ
but she says no she as to think.
He insists, telling her she can't keep it a secret, like she did with Will.
What does he care, she says he doesn't like EJ anyway. Lucas tells her the
man has a right to know,takes out his cell,and calls EJ telling him Sami is
in the hospital,and he should get over there. He hangs up,Sami tells him this
was none of he's business. You are right, and I am out of here. Sami protests,
but Lucas leaves.
EJ comes rushing in, wanting to know what happened. He sees she is not bleeding, no broken bones. She is evasive, says he should not be there, says she fainted. He asks if they have run tests, do they know why. She says it is no big deal. He asks again what is wrong. But Sami is silent.
Philip is one
the phone to a Dr. Randall talking of having donated money for an MRI machine
and learns his mother just had one. He rushes off to the hospital. Kate is
talking with Daniel, he explains the procedure for the biopsy, assuring her
Dr. Salter is an expert in his field. He is pretty thorough, offering to call
her children but she refuses, then he tells her he will be in the operating
room, assisting. Kate says no, she doesn't want him there. Daniel protests,
he is her friend, an excellent doctor. She reminds him how he had issues with
another patient who had cancer. Daniel insists, if so, they will deal with
it.
Philip comes in wanting to know what is going on. Kate refuses to tell him,
but he insists as she refuses. Then comes in Lucas also wanting to know what
going on. She still reluctant, but finally tells them about the proposed biopsy
and how it could be lung cancer.
FRIDAY
The show opens with a replay of the scene with EJ and Sami from the other
day. There is a huge fight between them when she learns he was pulled away
from having dinner with Nicole. He claims it was just dinner, saying Nicole
is just a friend and even tells Sami that if she wasn't so fickle and infuriating
he would be having dinner with her instead. Sami rants, EJ rants, she tells
him to go away, she fine, only low blood sugar, some fruit and juice fixed
her up. She screams at him to get out. They argue some more. EJ finally leaves.
Back at the Mansion,
Stefano is smoking one of his eternal cigars, playing with his chess set,
when a frustrated EJ comes in, fixing a drink, complaining about Sami who
does not have one redeeming quality. No grace, no wit, no charm, not even
a sense of humor. She clueless, has no heart. Stefano chides him, asking if
Sami is so bad, is that why he has been in love with her all this time. EJ
denies this, saying he was just infatuated, and though she is beautiful she
appeals to the worse parts of him. When one comes out of the Sami fog there
is not much there. Stefano listens, then asks if EJ is saying she is ignorant,
ordinary yep completely. Now Stefano starts in on them sharing a child, having
a bond that will never break because of it.
Sami stands in the background, listening, holding her tummy, then runs upstairs.
Stefano continues to press home to EJ how being a DiMera, the son and heir
will bind him to Sami forever, and he has to make up his mind how to deal
with it.
We again see Kate telling Philip and Lucas of her upcoming biopsy, the tests she has already been through and that it could be lung cancer. Both men expound on how healthy she is, never smoked, exercise etc etc. It probably something bronchial. When it is mentioned that Daniel will be consulting on the case, Philip has a fit, not way at all, he is not going near his mother. He opens the door, yelling for Dr. Jonas. Kate jumps out of bed telling him to stop, she loves him,but she wants Daniel on her case. Dr. Jonas arrives, Philip reads him a riot act,but Kate insists that he just helping, he cares, will make sure she gets the best around. Philip finally backs off, Daniel leaves, hugs to her sons, everything saying how they love each other. The two men finally leave, and we see Dr. Whitaker starting the IV on her to knock her out. Daniel comes in, she is glad to see him. She is beginning to feel drowsy, but clasps his hand.
Lucas and Sami walk into the Horton cabin and immediately begin arguing. She is mad because he called EJ, but it is apparent she is really angry that EJ was with Nicole. Lucas has her number, though and realizes this. He talks rationally and calmly, advising her to tell EJ about the baby. Sami needs to think clearly, be away from Stefano and that creepy mansion. Lucas tells her to stay there for the night, she thinks people will talk. After all they are no longer together. Lucas smiles, saying he is only telling her to stay the one night and not in his bed. He teases her over how she thinks she thinks she is the most irisistable woman on the planet, but he promises to resist his urges, not even making a pass at her. She laughs then asks about Chloe, he tells her Chloe is on a plane, called him from the airport, took a job in Kansas City. But even if she was there, she would have to understand how he and Sami have a thing a history, and kids together and while they may disagree at times, when push comes to shove, they still care for each other. Sami smiles yes, when push comes to shove, like right now. Lucas says he is offering her a place to stay tonight. Sami is grateful, thanks him and agrees to stay the night, and just like Scarlet O'Hara,will think about it tomorrow,what to do about EJ and their unborn baby.
Nicole is ranting away to John, how much of a failure she is, how she should have known she would crash and burn, she goes on and on. John thinks she told EJ about the baby, and he did not take it well, but she admits at last, she did not tell him. Then explains how he got the SOS call about Sami,and went running off to Sami once again. She should have known better. John tries to soothe her,but Nicole is definitely on a pity trip. He asks if she would raise this child herself, of course she would. She goes on about the miracle, how she went for 2nd and 3rd opinions after the bullet wound, all agreeing she would probably never be able to conceive, proved them all wrong. John remarks at how Stefano is so possessive about his grandchildren, but Nicole will deal with him when the time comes. John does make her feel better, tells her they should celebrate, she asks for non-alcoholic champagne, none here, but Chez Rouge would have some and they leave.
Now at Chez Rouge,
John and Nicole are seated at the table, making toasts with their non-alcoholic
champagne. They talk more about the baby,with Nicole finally agreeing she
will tell EJ every man deserves to know he has a child, John is looking at
Nicole, she gets a bit blurry for him, he shakes his head, puts a hand to
his forehead, and then slowly his head goes down on the table. Nicole jumps
up in panic mode, calls to John, yells for someone to call an ambulance. She
hovers over John, who begins to come to, she assures him the ambulance is
on the way, no no no hospitals for him. Next we see him, seemingly fine and
dandy. Yes he is ok. She tells him how she doesn't know him all that well,but
he has made her feel better,he is a good guy,and has shown he has a heart.
John smiles,now asks for her help. How does a guy like him get his wife back.
Nicole is a bit surprised, saying she knows Marlena loves him. He informs
her that Marlena wants a divorce. Nicole promise to think about this and will
let him know if she comes up with something.
Chloe is pacing at the pub,waiting for Lucas, who doesn't show up. Instead, Philip comes in, obviously worried. He tells Chloe about his mom, then asks how it goes with her. Chloe tells him she got a job with the Kansas City Opera, thanks to him. Her flight will be leaving soon, she goes tonight. Philip congratulates her, she decides she to leave now or will miss her flight. They both stand up, she thanks him again, he kisses her. Morgan comes in, sees the kiss, says she hopes she is not interrupting, Chloe replies, too late. She thanks Phillip again, and leaves. He tries to explain to Morgan,who comments that Phillip seems to be in love with Chloe, and is not denying it. He says he can't. She informs him she is taking an internship in Chicago, will transfer to a college there, had been contemplating taking the job while on vacation at her mom's but this decided her. Philip wishes her good luck, says something about being there for her if she needs anything.
