TCA chat with…DAYS OF OUR LIVES’ Kristian Alfonso and Peter Reckell

One of the more exciting parts of the bi-annual Television Critics Association are, of course, the parties! Not only do you get some yummy food and drinks but also many of the television stars from your favorite series (and soon-to-be favorites if the shows click with viewers) are floating around the party eager to talk with you about their characters and shows.

Last night I went to the Sony party to toast all the great Sony-produced programs like Breaking Bad, Rules of Engagement, Damages and the mid-season sitcom Mr. Sunshine starring Matthew Perry. But I forgot that Sony also produces daytime soaps like NBC’s Days Of Our Lives and CBS’s The Young and the Restless! I saw Peter Reckell and Kristian Alfonso (aka Bo and Hope from Days) standing on the patio at the Beverly Hilton’s Bar 210 and, since I had my trusty reporter’s recorder with me, chatted with them about the current storyline (where, because of the medicine she’s been taking, a mentally unbalanced Hope tried to stab her beloved Bo on this week’s episodes) and also about filming the funeral scenes for Frances Reid’s Alice Horton.

Jim Halterman:  Tell me how you both feel about what I’m calling the ‘Crazy Hope’ storyline.
