Thanks to everyone who made last week’s Galen Gering interview one of the most popular I’ve ever posted on the site. I always believe in giving the people what they want so for the next few Thursdays you’re going to find more Days Of Our Lives coverage right here so be sure to check back. Who knows, maybe it will become a regular weekly soap opera stop and I can eventually add coverage of The Young and the Restless, All My Children and more! So, this week…hunky Eric Martsolf.  Enjoy!!

When the writers for NBC’s long-running daytime serial Days of Our Lives decided to resurrect the role of Brady Black, the original actor (Kyle Lowder) had already moved on to another soap. Having already funneled Galen Gering (who was profiled here last week) from the defunct soap Passions, it was a no-brainer to also bring sexy Eric Martsolf (who had played Ethan) over to join the Salem fold. In fact, replacing an actor in a soap role is nothing new to Martsolf, who (if possible) is better looking in person and also much more friendly and gregarious than the sometimes somber Brady can be on the show. Here’s our chat from the NBC set of Days in Burbank.

Jim Halterman: You were a poly-sci major so I’m curious how that is helping you with your daily job on Days Of Our Lives?

Eric Martsolf: This always sounds so good. [laughs] I have a degree in pre-law with an emphasis in mass media politics and constitutional law. It sounds real important but the bottom line is that I really didn’t do anything with it other than portraying a lawyer on Passions for six years. I think I only got the role because I was the only guy who could pronounce the word precedent. That was my original plan for life. My father was a lawyer but I didn’t really gel with the conservative, Pennsylvania folk. I just wanted to branch out and sing and act. I was in all the musicals in high school. It just fit with me. I was one of those oddballs in high school that was in the choir but I also played football. I got teased but then again I got praised. I played both camps.
