Melanie and Philip are in the middle of making-out in Maggie’s kitchen, when a frantic Chloe knocks on the door looking for Daniel. She says he’s not answering her calls, and he’s off duty at the hospital. Chloe then says that she shouldn’t have bothered Phillip & Melanie, and starts to leave. Phillip asks her if she wants to stay and talk about it. Melanie says she needs to leave anyway to check on Bo, but first she reassures Chloe that things will work out with Daniel. Once Melanie leaves, Chloe starts stressing out about keeping the secret. She says she’s out of time, and she knows it is all wrong and Carly just won’t let it go. Chloe says it is just a matter of time & she can’t keep it a secret anymore!

Back at the hospital, Carly tells Daniel how thankful she is that he saved Bo, and she asks why he came by to see her in the first place. Daniel says, "It's over; it's all gone to hell with Chloe!" Daniel says that Chloe is having 2^nd thoughts, and he can’t believe that now that they are having a baby- she’s having 2^nd thoughts! Carly’s reaction to this prompts Daniel to plea- if you know anything at all, please tell me! Carly eludes an answer for the time being.

Nicole is in her motel room, looking over her coded diary. She says it is her ticket to get even with EJ. Brady arrives, and when he starts to reach for her diary- Nicole freaks out. She tells him it is her diary and it is private. Brady wants to know why Nicole is so tense. She chalks it up to living in a seedy motel room. She thanks Brady for being such a good friend, and says that she thinks things are going to get better for her. She tells Brady she is making an investment that will pay off big. Brady doesn’t like the sound of that. They make plans for a lunch date later- and Brady leaves. Nicole then says that she loves Brady so much.

Rafe is in his office, looking over the coded diary page. He vows to find out how it ties Nicole and EJ together. Arianna stops by, and Rafe tells her this is a bad time for a visit. Ari wants to know what Rafe is hiding. When Arianna finds out that Rafe’s investigation has to do with EJ, she defends EJ and says that she doesn’t think he’s a monster- he’s just a complicated guy trying to better himself. On that note, the siblings part ways, apparently agreeing to disagree for the moment. Rafe says he has no doubt that EJ is a monster.

At the DiMera mansion, Stefano thinks Kate is obsessing because she’s reading Madeline’s obituary again. Kate explains that she's just worried about Chad losing his mother so young. Stefano says they should be concentrating on how her death was a good effect on them: "She was an absolute threat to us and then poof! No more threat!" he says. Kate flashes back to Chad’s birth certificate (3/3/1990), and says to Stefano that she relates to Maddie as a mom, and that Chad is an innocent in all this. Stefano says he has no compassion for Chad, or his “buffoon” of a father, and that Kate should just leave them alone. Kate’s phone rings, and it is Chad. He wants to talk to her in person. Later, Chad arrives at the mansion to meet with Kate. Chad thanks Kate for her kindness after his mom died, and he admits that he still blames himself for her death. Chad says he cannot move on until he knows more about his mom’s past. He wants Kate to clear things up for him about his mom being a former prostitute. "Is it true?" he asks. Kate says that it's best to honor his mom by focusing on her love, and letting the rest go. She says she is sorry for what Chad is going through, and that she can see he has a lot of courage. Chad asks if they can talk again later. Kate says “anytime”.

Melanie arrives at the hospital, and meets Carly outside of Bo’s room. She asks how Bo is doing, and reminds her mom that she just wants her to be happy. Carly says that it means a lot to her. Melanie says it shouldn’t mean a lot- it should be assumed that she wants Carly to be happy, because she’s her mom. Carly gets tears in her eyes, and they share a very emotional hug.

Chloe and Daniel meet back up at their apartment. She reminds him how much she loves him and tries to explain why she wanted to postpone the wedding. She says that she is just freaking out about the pregnancy, and says that she hasn’t even told her parents or her sister about the baby yet. They talk things over and Chloe says "I want us to be a family…So can we please just wait one month?" Daniel is okay with this, and says they just need to tell the truth about everything from now on. They kiss and make up. Daniel says he has to leave to meet Melanie. Chloe says she is proud of the way Daniel is a father to Melanie and she knows he will be a great dad to this baby as well. Daniel says everything is okay now, and he leaves. Chloe whispers “You still don’t see the truth.“

Will and Stefano meet at the Pub, and Will is astonished when Stefano offers him an internship at DiMera Enterprises. Will worries about how his mom will react, and Stefano says that maybe Will should keep the internship a secret for right now. "We all have our secrets right?" he jokes. Later on, Stefano arrives back at home, just as Chad is leaving from visiting Kate. He is surprised to see Chad there. “To what do we owe the honor?“ Kate covers by lying and saying that Chad was just looking for Will. After Chad leaves, Stefano says "What- he can’t IM or text him to track him down like they do these days?" Kate says apparently not. She said she just offered him condolences. Stefano says Kate needs to stay away from Chad. "We have to make him go away. Understood?" he adds.

Daniel arrives at Maggie’s to pick Melanie up for their father/daughter date. He surprises her with a nice pair of earrings for passing her nursing exam. Melanie is very pleased and touched that Daniel remembered, given everything that is going on with Chloe. Daniel reminds her that she is important to him. Melanie says that she is worried about what's going on with Chloe. Daniel promises her that everything is all fine. They are enjoying each other’s company when Daniel gets a call from the hospital. They want him to do a skin graft across town, tomorrow, at St. Mary’s Hospital. He asks Melanie to come along, and she excitedly agrees.

Meanwhile, Carly arrives at Daniel & Chloe’s place. Chloe is upset that she lied again to Daniel and she doesn’t know how much longer she can continue the charade. Carly says not to worry- she has arranged for Chloe to take a paternity test, under an assumed name, at a hospital across town- tomorrow- at St. Mary’s Hospital!

Philip is seen sitting alone on a park bench. He’s thinking about what will happen if Melanie finds out the truth. Phillip has a daydream about it, which does not go so well. In the daydream- Melanie tells his she can’t believe he would betray her with her father’s girlfriend! She says they are done, and slaps him full across the face!

Nicole makes a phone call to EJ. "We need to discuss our deal and when you're going to deliver," she says. About this time, Rafe is seen in his office. He is excited, as he apparently has found what he needed. He grins and says, "Oh, Nicole. You are so busted!"
