Victor Kiriakis

Victor Kiriakis first arrived in Salem in 1985. Unknown to most of Salem he was a criminal and was financing Savannah Wilder's drug and porno ring. He was eventually arrested for his part in the crime syndicate, but forced Larry Welch into taking the fall for him.

Kimberly Brady had a short relationship with him, but cut it off and returned to Shane when he divorced Emma. Later, Shane was imprisoned by Victor, and Kimberly slept with him to spare her beloved's life. Victor learned that Kimberly was pregnant and the child could be his.

In 1986, Victor had a meeting with Caroline Brady, who ended up holding him at gunpoint. Years earlier, she and Victor had had an affair and she wanted to keep it quiet, particularly because Bo was really Victor's son. Bo arrived and had to take his mother into custody. At a hearing, Caroline had to admit that Bo was Victor's son. It was agreed that they wouldn't tell Grandpa Shawn because it would hurt him too much, but shortly thereafter Bo moved in with Victor. Unbeknownst to Victor, Bo had ulterior motives; he was trying to bring down Victor's crime syndicate. Caroline pleaded for Victor to forget that Bo was his son because it was causing stress on Bo and Hope's marriage. Victor, who still held a place for Caroline in his heart, agreed. Victor forged papers saying he was sterile and wasn't Bo's father. Victor disowned Bo, and later Bo left Salem with Hope. Depressed about the loss of his son, Victor tried to sue for custody of Andrew Donovan, but it was discovered that Shane was the boy's father.

When Angelica Devereaux became pregnant, Victor suspected that his nephew Justin was the father, even though she denied it. Victor proposed to Angelica, hoping to pass the child off as his own. Much to Victor's dismay, Angelica married Neil Curtis. Victor was furious and attempted to ruin her marriage by luring Neil into gambling again. Neil was eventually ruined and Angelica left him and decided to go after Justin instead.

Justin and his wife Adrienne learned that Angelica's son Alexander was his, but they didn't split up. Justin and Adrienne moved out of the Kiriakis Mansion when he learned that his Uncle Victor was drugging him, causing his impotency. In an attempt to get back at his uncle, Justin hired a hooker name Yvette DuPres to seduce Victor and con him into believing she was a wealthy baroness. Victor learned the truth and was furious with Justin. Angelica then moved in with Victor and planned to marry him, knowing that it would kill Justin to have his son under Victor's roof. Justin stopped the wedding and set Angelica up in a lavish penthouse. Fearing she was losing Justin, Adrienne, under the advice of Victor, allowed Justin to believe she was pregnant. When Angelica learned the truth and exposed Adrienne, Justin and Adrienne agreed to get a divorce.

Victor teamed up with Marina Toscano to uncover the Toscano family treasure. Marina knew where the key was, and Victor knew where the treasure was hidden, but they needed each other's help to get it. Marina double crossed Victor and let him believe the key he had taken from her was the real key. Marina had hidden the real one in Steve and Kayla Johnson's home. When Marina ended up dead Victor lost the hope of finding the key. He finally did find it, but the treasure was already gone. Victor knew his daughter Isabella had killed Marina, but he framed Kayla for the murder. Kayla was convicted and sentenced to jail. Eventually, the truth came out, but Isabella was not charged because the death was accidental. Victor was also arrested and charged with withholding evidence.

Victor began to search for his true son, Bo Brady. Victor chased Bo and Hope around the world. Eventually Bo, Hope, and Shawn D. returned to Salem and Bo accepted the fact that Victor was his real father. In late 1990, Victor made up with his nephew Justin and his wife Adrienne. Victor also bonded with his newly discovered daughter, Isabella. However Victor's happiness was short-lived. He had a stroke that left him paralyzed from the waist down. Carly Manning became Victor's physical therapist and he fell in love with her, even though he knew she loved his son Bo. Victor proposed to her anyway and she accepted.

Bo befriended a young girl named Emmy Borden, who was in love with him. The night before Carly was to marry Victor, Bo wrote a love letter to her begging her not to go through with it. He asked Emmy to deliver it to Carly, but she gave it to Victor, instead. Victor replaced Bo's letter with a forged one that urged Carly to marry Victor. He sent a forged letter from Carly to Bo telling Bo that she was in love with Victor and was going to marry him. Devastated, Bo showed up at their wedding and toasted them with a glass of champagne. Unfortunately, the champagne he drank was poisoned by Emmy, who expected Carly to drink it. Bo was infected with the virus that Lawrence had created and was using to kill off ISA agents.

When Victor learned that Bo was infected with Lawrence's virus, Victor offered to trade the "John Black" file to Lawrence for the cure. The deal fell through and during the trade the vial fell to the floor and broke. Luckily, Carly was able to save some of it and reproduce the cure, saving Bo and many others. Carly eventually uncovered Victor's love letter scheme and promptly left him for Bo. Victor was furious and attempted to have Bo killed in an elevator accident at the Salem Inn. The plan failed and Carly was seriously injured. As a result, both Bo and Isabella disowned their father.

In 1992, Victor lost his daughter Isabella to cancer. Victor turned his life around because of her and made a respectable businessman out of himself. Victor began seeing Vivian Alamain. In 1993, Kate Roberts came to Salem to head up Victor's new business, Titan Industries. Victor allowed Kate and her son, Lucas, to move into his mansion. The two fell in love and married, or so they thought. Later, Vivian revealed to everyone that Kate's first husband, Curtis Reed, was very much alive when Kate married Victor.

Victor told Kate he would only marry her legitimately if she bore him a child. Kate could not get pregnant, so she went to a fertility clinic. Vivian learned of this and cooked up her own plan. Pretending to attempt to have a child with Ivan, Vivian went to the same clinic and managed to switch her and Kate's embryos. Vivian was implanted with Victor and Kate's child. They believed that it was an accident. Vivian managed to force herself to be invited move into the Kiriakis Mansion where she plotted to marry Victor. She prepared a surprise wedding for Kate and Victor, but in the rehearsal, she pretended to be Kate. Victor had no idea that he and Vivian had actually married. When it came time for Victor to marry Kate, Vivian went into labor and gave birth to Phillip. Kate had found out the truth about the "wedding" and planned to expose Vivian after she returned home from a business trip. Desperate to buy time, Vivian drugged a jug of coffee that Kate was taking on her trip. Unbeknownst to Vivian, Kate gave the coffee to her pilot and the plane crashed. Kate was believed dead, leaving Victor to Vivian.

Vivian managed to convince Victor that what she wanted a husband and a family to settle down with. One night, as Vivian and Victor prepared to make love, Kate walked in on them. Kate told Victor that Vivian purposely became pregnant with their child and then tried to kill her. Victor threw Vivian out. In a desperate attempt to win Victor back, Vivian filed for custody of baby Phillip. Victor confronted Vivian about the lawsuit, but had a stroke when he got too worked up. Later, when Victor saw photos of Kate's time as a call girl, he had another stroke and had to be moved to a nursing home. He stayed there for quite some time, while Kate ran Titan and Vivian continued to try to take control. Eventually, Vivian exposed a scam at the nursing home where Victor was being kept and he was released. He was ready to marry Kate, but told her that he was impotent. She agreed to marry him nonetheless.

Nicole entered Victor's life while she was married to Lucas. Being the gold-digger that she is, she quickly realized that the person with the real money was Victor and it wasn't long before she set her sights on him. Meanwhile, Kate was having a flirtation with Nicholas, another Titan employee. He was in love with Kate and told Victor as much. Victor called off his and Kate's wedding and moved her into a guestroom at the mansion.

Victor took Kate and Lucas to Italy to stop Sami from getting information about Roberto's fake confession. Here, they celebrate Sami's demise prematurely. After returning to Salem, Nicole continued plotting to win Victor over, finally making love to him in the back of his limo. Shortly thereafter, however, he also made love to Kate. Kate made the mistake of putting a hit out on Victor, to be carried out at Princess Greta's coronation. At the last minute, she wanted to call it off, but was told it was too late. Shots rang out and she believed Victor was killed. He wasn't and when he appeared to her as a "ghost," she figured it out, hit him over the head and set fire to the Kiriakis Mansion with him inside. He escaped unharmed and later confronted her in the ashes of his mansion. He left her penniless and took up with Nicole in a rented estate. He then set his sights on keeping Philip and Chloe apart, but that was no use. When Philip almost died in the class trip to Puerto Rico, Victor and Nicole traveled there to help save him.

When Nicole started spending too much time with Austin, Victor became jealous. Meanwhile, Philip was trying desperately to get his parents back together and to get Nicole out of his father's life. Eventually, Victor did ask Nicole to move out, but soon thereafter planned to ask her to marry him. She told him she wanted to think about it, which basically split them up. When Victor got hold of the incriminating tape against Sami, he used it to help Lucas get partial custody of Will. Victor was unhappy when Nicole began a relationship with Colin Murphy and broke them up. Nicole and Victor finally got back together. When a bullet meant for Victor hit Nicole instead and she went into a coma, he promised her after she recovered that he would destroy Sami and Kate as a wedding present.

Victor and Nicole finally married, in a New Year's Eve ceremony. It wasn't the most beautiful wedding; Colin Murphy was murdered out on the terrace while they were exchanging vows. Victor knew that his beautiful new bride was the culprit, but he threatened Larry Welch into taking the fall. Nicole and Victor proceeded to make each other's life a living hell, so much so that she broke Larry out of jail to kill her husband. Larry's murder attempt failed and he died instead.

Of course, Victor wasn't really dead at all. He was being held hostage on Tropical Island Salem by the evil Count Tony DiMera. While there, he grew closer to Caroline, the love of his life, even moving into the Brady Pub to "protect" her. Finally, they were rescued by a group of Salemites who arrived on the island. Unfortunately, Victor was among the group recaptured by Tony. This does mean he gets to spend more time with Caroline, but at what cost? His "widow" Nicole is back in Salem, moving on with his grandson Brady, while he was being held hostage, this time on a remote DiMera island. He and Caroline are in the lap of luxury but they may never be able to escape. Victor is resigned to this fact as long as he is with Caroline, but she wants to get back to her family. He says he'll do what it takes to help her get home to her loved ones.

Bo and Hope go in search of Victor and Caroline. They find the island, where Tony warns Hope that Bo is about to fall into his trap, but lets her reunite with Victor and Caroline. Victor and Caroline are brought in to watch Tony kill either Bo or Hope. They all manage to escape, with Patrick's help, and make it back to Salem.

Once home, Victor confronts Nicole as Brady watches. He berates his wife for trying to kill him and Brady is stunned when he hears about her involvement with Jan. Victor banishes Nicole from the house and all money.

Victor talks about having to replace Brady at Titan and Kate suggests Lucas. Lucas goes to work at Titan. Victor warns him that Austin is going to be competition. Lucas vows to defeat him on every level.

Kate is determined to prevent anyone from finding out Shawn is Claire's father. She breaks into the records room and changes Shawn's genetic profile. A security guard catches her and brings her to his office. He calls someone and Kate is shocked when she sees who he called. Victor. He learns her plot to change Shawn's blood type and wants to turn her in. Kate tells Victor that Shawn is Claire's father and appeals to him for help. He tells Kate that Philip must know the truth. A crisis ensues and Kate avoids telling. Kate presses Victor and he reluctantly agrees to keep quiet -- for now.

Victor continues to suggest that Kate tell Philip and prepare him about Claire's real father. Before Victor can say anything, though, Shawn tells him he has proposed to Mimi.

Victor welcomes Carrie to Titan. He also talks to Kate about not meddling in her sons' lives. Kate begs Victor to continue keeping the secret about Claire but he isn't sure it is the right thing to do.

Mimi informs Philip she wants to void their contract with the surrogate, Lauren. Despite a warning from Victor, Kate encourages Philip to pay off Lauren. Philip confronts Kate about her knowledge of Claire's paternity. She slips and reveals Victor also knew.

Philip finds Shawn trashing the garage and tells him about Kate and Victor's lies. Shawn takes Max's car and drives it into the Kiriakis mansion, vowing to kick Victor's ass! Shawn tries to fight Victor but is deterred by his bodyguard. Shawn refuses to accept Victor's apology.

Lucas delivers Belle an envelope from Victor. It contains signed divorce papers from Philip and a $100,000 check. Belle refuses the money, knowing it came from Victor. Later, Shawn runs into Victor but wants nothing to do with him. As far as he's concerned, Victor is no longer his grandfather. Victor sends Shawn $10,000 but he refuses to accept it.

Belle and Shawn run into each other at Victor's, where they are returning their checks. Victor asks to be a part of Claire's life. Shawn tells Belle he's turned a new leaf and hands her a wad of cash for child support and turns the decision about Victor's request over to her. Belle is impressed and agrees to let Victor see Claire. Later, we see Victor watching Belle and Shawn from a distance, with a very icy, un-grandfatherly look on his face.

Belle takes Claire to Victor's and lays down some ground rules. Later, Victor lets Claire in on a secret and takes her to meet a mysterious man with a bandaged face. Shawn goes to pick up Claire from Victor's but Victor won't let him into the room where Claire has been "sleeping." Shawn shares his suspicions with Belle. Later, Victor goes into the mysterious room and promises the man with the bandaged face that Claire will spend more time with him -- and calls the man Philip!

Belle sees Kate at Victor's. Kate has a newspaper photo of Marines shipping out to war and thinks Philip is among them. Victor dismisses it, but Kate is suspicious.

Mimi and Max are determined to find Philip by locating the photographer who shot the photo. The photographer calls Victor to warn him about Mimi and Max's inquiries. Victor meets with a plastic surgeon and we discover that Philip did go back to Afghanistan and his face was badly burned when his jeep was fire-bombed. He needs a new face! Victor writes a generous donation for research so the doctor will put Philip at the top of his list. Victor vows to help Philip get his life, and his daughter back.

Victor asks Belle to meet him at a diner. While there, Belle gets a call from him; he's running late but has some news. He is giving Claire a $250,000 trust fund. Shocked, Belle is distracted from Claire and when she returns, her daughter is missing! Victor leads the police to suspect a patron of the diner. Little does everyone know, an unnoticed red-haired woman may be to blame. The redhead shows up with Claire, claiming the baby wandered into her car. She later shows up at Victor's home and he pays her off. Victor tells Philip they've succeeded in the first step in getting Claire back.

Victor has made secret plans to fly Philip to Montreal for a face transplant. Max suspects Victor is hiding info about Philip. Why was it so easy for them to locate 'Spivey' when powerful Victor had no luck?

Victor finds out Max and Mimi visited the VA hospital. He promises Philip he won't hurt them, but will deal with them. Max and Mimi show up to question Victor about Philip and he pretends to take them into his confidence. He tells them he knew all along about 'Spivey' but had to lie. Philip was taken to a secure location by the CIA. Later, Max and Mimi admit to each other they don't believe a word of Victor's lies and they intend to keep up their search for Philip.

Shawn and Belle have dinner with Victor at Chez Rouge and tell him they want to end Claire's visits until Shawn can bond with his daughter. Victor reacts badly and warns Shawn he will regret the decision.

Max and Mimi tell Kate they think Victor is hiding Philip. Kate cleverly steals Victor's keys. At the Kiriakis Mansion, she is about to enter the mystery room when Victor arrives. He makes no move to stop her, and she discovers Philip. They tearfully reunite. Victor reveals his master plan to Kate: Philip will get a new face and Victor will manipulate Shawn and Belle so Philip will get sole custody of Claire. Kate agrees to help. Victor tells Kate he's going to put Max and Mimi on ice for a while but promises he won't hurt them.

Belle, Shawn and Claire spend their first real family day together. At breakfast, they run into a woman named Beverly who fawns over Claire and probes them with questions. We later discover she is from child services and is investigating Belle and Shawn at Victor's behest.

Roman goes to the Kiriakis Mansion and finds Kate. He starts searching the place. He nearly discovers Philip, but Victor arrives and kicks him out. Victor is ready to fly Philip to Montreal for the face transplant. Kate insists on coming and Philip forces Victor to agree. Roman enlists Abby and Chelsea's to help find Max and Mimi by researching the properties Victor owns. They check Victor's land holdings and find an abandoned farm.

Victor offers Belle and Shawn a deal: they agree that Philip is Claire's primary parent, and he'll let them be a part of her life. Shawn throws him out. He and Belle are subpoenaed to appear in court the next day. Belle and Shawn's lawyer has grim news: Victor has evidence that they are unfit parents. Alone with Belle, Shawn vows he won't lose Claire. If it comes down to it, they'll take Claire away from Salem for good!

Shawn and Belle go to court to determine who will win custody of Claire. Victor accuses them of negligence and brings in Willow to testify that Shawn worked for a criminal. Shawn and Belle defend themselves. All are shocked when a bandaged man is wheeled into the hearing room -- Philip! He takes off the bandages and Belle cries out "that's not Philip!" Victor explains Philip's injury and that he is here to claim his rights as Claire's legal father. Meanwhile the judge makes his decision and orders Shawn and Belle to take parenting classes for three months. He awards Philip temporary custody for ninety days.

After the court hearing, Shawn goes to confront Willow. She tells Shawn that Victor paid her $10,000 to lie to the judge.

Shawn and Belle kidnap Claire and plan to leave the country. They have no choice because Philip and Victor were planning to take Claire out of the country. Philip goes to Mimi and physically forces her to tell him where Shawn and Belle are.

Victor orders Lucas to track down Shawn and Belle and bring Claire back. Lucas refuses and is fired. Lucas asks Philip for help in getting his old job back. Victor interrupts and kicks Lucas out.

Victor calls Bo and tells him Crawford won't press charges against Chelsea. Victor is loaning him the Kiriakis jet so he and his wife can take a trip to deal with their grief. Billie thanks Victor and he offers her a job; she says she'll think about it.

Victor runs into Caroline and they talk about Bo and Grandpa Shawn. They run into Chelsea, who begs them to tell her the story of how they came to be Bo's parents. Chelsea is impacted by the fact that her dad loves both of his fathers.

Victor offers to escort Caroline to the church for Grandpa Shawn's funeral. She thinks Shawn wouldn't mind but insists on walking there alone.

When Bo becomes ill, Victor vows to do everything within his power to find a cure. He is especially devastated that another one of his children has become so ill, and on top of that, Philip's life hasn't turned out the way he planned. He turns to Marlena for help in dealing with his conflicted feelings. Thanks to Victor's friend, Dr. Daniel Jonas, Bo is saved.

Now, to further complicate Victor's life, his wife Nicole has turned back up. One can only wonder: what will their divorce settlement be?
