Dr. Carly Manning

Dr. Carly Manning was born Katerina Von Leuschner. She is the sister of François Von Leuschner (a.k.a. Frankie Brady) and is the mother of Nicholas Alamain. Born into a life of privilege and fortune, she quickly found a way to live as normal of a life she could in the town of Salem. Although she was engaged to Bo Brady, Carly only managed to marry and divorce Victor Kiriakis. Carly Manning first arrived in Salem after being on the run and deciding to move to the hometown of her two friends, Adrienne and Justin Kiriakis. It was in Salem where she was reunited with two people from her past, the first was her long-lost schoolmate Jennifer Horton and the second was Bo Brady, a man who broke up a fight years earlier between Carly, who was then Katerina Von Leuschner, and Lawrence Alamain in Paris. Before changing her name to Carly, Katerina had been forced into a marriage with Lawrence, a man whose family name was equally as powerful and rich. Bo didn't remember the Paris incident when he ran into Carly in Salem. Bo and Carly grew to despise one another, but he grew closer to the beautiful doctor when she was treating his son.

Bo and Carly eventually fell in love, but he was still mourning the loss of his wife and was afraid of commitment, so she accepted a marriage proposal from one of her patients, Victor Kiriakis. Victor was still paralyzed, so the two could not consummate their marriage. Carly never loved Victor; therefore, she would constantly make excuses to avoid making their relationship physical. Victor could see Carly and Bo still loved each other and schemed ways to keep them apart. His plans didn't work and Bo and Carly eventually found their way back to each other and had a symbolic Mayan wedding in Mexico.

Vivian Alamain wanted to seek revenge on Carly for all the damage she caused to her family and had hatched a plan. After finding out she was diagnosed with a fatal heart disease, Vivian would set Carly up for her "murder." The plan was thwarted when Victor witnessed Vivian's plan in motion, which led to her paralysis. Vivian was then sent to a doctor for some herbs that potentially could cure her and enable her to walk again. The herbs also made the already-fragile Vivian even more mentally unstable. She hatched a plan to frame Carly for murdering her patients. When Carly walked in on Vivian trying to murder Caroline Brady, she lunged at Vivian. Carly ended up falling on a needle that was injected with morphine and fell into a coma. Vivian then spiked Carly's IV to make it look like she was dead.

Vivian then buried Carly alive in a special coffin equipped with an air tank. Eventually, Carly's air supply began to run out, just as Vivian's crazy herbs were wearing off. Vivian immediately had Lawrence dig up Carly, but Carly had no memory of the people in her life, including Bo and her son, Nikki. Lawrence re-entered Carly's life and she began to fall in love with him all over again. Eventually, she chose to start over with Lawrence and Nikki and together, all three left Salem to re-embrace their old life. But now, Carly has resurfaced back in Salem and no doubt her presence is about to shake up the lives of Bo, Hope, Victor and the other citizens
