Bo Brady
Although raised by Caroline and Shawn, Bo's biological father is Victor Kiriakis. Throughout the years, especially during his childhood, Bo had a conflicting relationship with Shawn and the two fought constantly. When his paternity was revealed, "father and son" were finally able to put their differences aside and build a healthy relationship. Meanwhile, Bo continued his up-and-down relationship with his natural father, Victor Kiriakis.
In early adulthood, Bo was a motorcycle riding, ex-Merchant Marine who was highly sought after by the lovely ladies of Salem. This leather-jacket-wearing bad boy only had eyes for uptown-girl, Hope Williams. They fell in love when Hope was just 17 years old and formed a lasting bond that would transcend all adversity. After several years as a crime fighting duo, Bo and Hope tied the knot. They had one child, Shawn-Douglas, and sailed around the world on their boat, "Fancy Face," shortly after his birth. Years later, both Bo and Hope got involved with the underhanded dealings of Ernesto Toscano. Both Ernesto and Hope were caught in a massive explosion in 1987 and she was presumed dead.
Devastated by the loss of his soul mate, Bo returned to Salem and searched for comfort in the arms of friends and family. He nearly married Dr. Carly Manning before turning his attention to the young Billie Reed. Billie was a recovering drug addict and prostitute who Bo took under his wing. The couple formed a meaningful bond and eventually got married. It wasn't until after the wedding that "Gina" arrived in Salem. It was later revealed that Gina was Hope Williams and when she started to win back Bo's love, Billie left for Europe and their marriage was declared illegal.
Billie returned from Paris in time to stop a second marriage between Bo and Hope. During an undercover operation to expose an illegal drug ring, Bo and Billie were forced to remarry in order to make their front believable. They consummated their marriage and Billie became pregnant with baby Georgina, who unfortunately died at birth. Later, Billie lead Hope into believing that she was the reason for her miscarriage in order to keep her from getting back together with Bo.
Meanwhile, Bo discovered "swamp girl" while in the Bayou. Bo was shocked to learn that she knew many secrets about Hope's past. In fact, she was the person who took Hope's place in the cage at Ernesto's. She was damaged in the explosion while Stefano DiMera took Hope to safety. Later, Stefano and his evil henchmen planted a chip in Hope's head to secretly transform her into Princess Gina. Bo brought the swamp girl, who would later be known as Greta Von Amberg, back to Salem where she underwent plastic surgery to repair her scarred face. Bo launched an operation to rescue the real Hope from Stefano's clutches and he and a group of Salemites traveled to Paris.
As part of his evil plan to steal valuable Renet paintings, Stefano used a brainwashed Hope (Princess Gina) to try to destroy Bo. He was captured by Kurt and almost burned alive in a warehouse but managed to escape. After a long ordeal, Bo was reunited with Hope but it was really Princess Gina who had pulled a switch and traveled back to Salem while Hope remained captive in Paris. Back home, Shawn instinctively felt that something was different about his mother but Bo was too blinded with love to identify the imposter. The two married and soon after, "Hope" attempted to kill Shawn and Marlena and was fatally shot in the process. The truth came out and Bo rushed back to Paris to rescue the real Hope.
Hope and Bo were reunited back in Salem. When Hope revealed that she was pregnant, Bo was overjoyed even though he thought that the baby was not his. When Hope gave birth, Stefano had Rolf switch the baby with that of Rolf's drunken niece, Marlo. Lexie and Abe adopted Marlo's baby (switched with Hope's), Isaac, and Bo and Hope raised JT, who suffers from Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. Meanwhile, the paternity of Hope's baby remained still in question. Both John and Stefano both felt that they were the father and were determined to learn the truth.
Bo went to Ireland, where he investigated the Brady/DiMera vendetta. He walked into trouble there and was saved by Jennifer Horton. They managed to escape and boarded a boat for Salem, which was sabotaged. They almost drowned, but were rescued by a cruise ship. When he returned to Salem, Hope confessed to Bo that he was not the baby's father but she neglected to tell him the truth about John. Despite her confession, their love was stronger than ever and they planned another wedding. On Christmas Eve, Bo and Hope exchanged vows in front of friends and family in a picture perfect ceremony.
Bo and Hope then focused their attention on raising JT, only to learn about the baby switch. They were finally reunited with the real baby, Zack, and learned that Bo was his father. They also survived the outcome of their older son Shawn's problems his senior year in high school, when he claimed to be the father of a fellow student's baby. Eventually, the truth came out about that and Shawn and his girlfriend Belle reconciled and are going to college at Salem University.
Bo and Hope focused their attention on raising JT, only to learn about the baby switch. They were finally reunited with the real baby, Zack, and learned that Bo was his father. They also survived the outcome of their older son Shawn's problems his senior year in high school, when he claimed to be the father of Jan, a fellow student's baby. Eventually, the truth came out about that and Shawn and his girlfriend Belle reconciled.
Bo was forced to live without his beloved Hope when she has traveled to Iowa to be with baby JT while he underwent a surgery. When she was on her way home, she was kidnapped by Larry Welch, who Hope had helped to send to prison. He held her prisoner for some time and Bo only secured her release after putting together an elaborate ruse to catch the kidnapper. Bo and Hope were reunited, but Hope suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder from her ordeal and for months thought she could see Larry, who Bo was sure was dead. Meanwhile, Colin Murphy was shot and killed during Victor and Nicole's New Year's Eve wedding. Both Hope and Shawn thought they were responsible; it turned out that Shawn had shot at Colin, but he didn't kill him. Finally, Larry Welch overplayed his hand and Bo caught him. While he was in jail, Victor blackmailed him into admitting to killing Colin Murphy.
Bo noticed that a lot of criminals seemed to be getting off on technicalities in Salem. When it hit close to home and drug dealer Vin Ramsell was set free after trying kill Shawn, Bo had enough. He quit the force and went off on his own, eventually bringing Ramsell in. After this, he and Hope decided to work together as bounty hunters. In order to finance this new gig, they made the heartbreaking decision to sell their boat, the Fancy Face. They had some success in their bounty hunting gig, then went off to track down the source of some mysterious goop that Tony DiMera was after. They barely made it back in one piece from this adventure -- after displeasing the DiMeras by blowing up the goop -- then were attacked and almost killed at the Basic Black fashion show.
When the Salem Stalker went on her murderous rampage, Bo lost some of his closest friends and family members, including his mother and his brother. He rejoined the police force, as did Hope, and after Roman's death was made police commander. Although he never suspected her, when it turned out that Marlena was the Stalker, he was quick to arrest her and throw her in jail. After all the murders, Bo's son Shawn felt the need to leave town to clear his head. Bo lent him his motorcycle, but then Shawn disappeared.
Of course, all the victims weren't really dead. They were being held captive by Tony DiMera on a tropical island recreation of Salem. After Jennifer figured out that Jack was still alive, it wasn't long before half of the still-living Salemites, including Bo, had shown up on the island to rescue their loved ones. Despite Tony's conniving -- which included a volcanic explosion -- most of them managed to escape. Unfortunately, Roman, Marlena, Cassie, Jack, Victor and Caroline were "killed;" really Tony recaptured them and took them to a remote European castle.Bo got another surprise on the island -- Billie Reed! When they returned to Salem, they made another shocking discover; their daughter Georgia, whom they believed was stillborn, was still alive! The search was on to find the now-teenaged girl. One little problem – the search meant neglecting Hope and his sons and she was none too happy about it. She even gave him an ultimatum – if anything happened to Shawn while Bo was out searching for Georgia, their marriage was over.
The search for Georgia led Bo and Billie to Europe and later to an abandoned house where they fell into a pit. Gas started pouring in and the two of them made love. Hope and Patrick, once again on Bo and Billie's tail, found them. To help make it up to Hope, Bo presented her with a special gift: the Fancy Face III. They sailed away to find Tony.
Tony took Bo and Hope hostage. Billie and Patrick also arrived and helped capture Tony. He was extradited back to Salem where he unveiled the truth; Chelsea Benson, Abby's friend, was really Bo and Billie's daughter Georgia! DNA tests proved he wasn't lying, but Chelsea wasn't too happy about it. That didn't stop her from hitting Bo up for money and his guilt over "abandoning" her made him cave to all of her requests and Hope continued to accuse Bo of abandoning the family he already had.
The holidays brought a slightly new Chelsea. She was trying to mend her ways and bonded with Hope and Zack. At the new year, Bo lent Chelsea his car and signed for her to drive; she had wrecked her car and had her license suspended. While she was driving, she hit Zack. Before he knew what had happened, Bo agreed to keep this little incident a secret. When he found out the truth, he was devastated. Chelsea begged him not to tell Hope. Bo reluctantly agreed. How could he send his daughter to jail?
Bo continued to keep the secret when Billie "admitted" to hitting Zack. The truth only came out when Patrick did a little investigation. Hope learned what had really happened and that Bo had known all along. Hope kicked him out of the house.
Chelsea worked both her parents and used her wily ways to keep driving Hope away. Billie was always there when he needed her and he needed her a lot. He was drinking heavily, getting into fights, racing around on his motorcycle. Eventually, the two former lovers made love again. Bo soon found out that Hope was moving on, as well; she and Patrick had made love. Hope asked Bo for a divorce.
Hope returned to Salem when, no thanks to Bo, she learned that Chelsea's trial date had been moved up. A certain dirty cop named Eve agreed to help Chelsea's case after a little payoff from Kate and destroyed the evidence disk against her. And she framed Bo for the deed! Hope told Bo she could never take him back unless he could prove he was innocent of this latest misdeed.
Jack and Jennifer got on the case the evidence disk was found in Patrick's house. Hope forgave Bo and the two finally reconciled.
It wasn't long before Bo uncovered that Chelsea had a hand in keeping him and Hope apart. He swore he wouldn't have anything to do with her, ever again. Then, he had to arrest Chelsea for tampering with Claire Kiriakis' hospital file. The truth came out about that when a DNA test confirmed Shawn really is Claire's father.
Meanwhile, Hope was pregnant and tests proved that Patrick was the father! Bo was devastated but promised to stand by Hope, no matter what. Patrick was exonerated in Eve's murder and continued to try to come between Bo and Hope. Bo's anger at Patrick even got him stripped of his badge. Eventually, Patrick kidnapped Hope (at the behest of the DiMeras) and tried to leave town with her. Bo was hot on their trail and found them in a warehouse, where Hope went into labor. After she gave birth, Patrick handed the baby girl to Bo – the real father!
As he and Hope bonded with their new baby daughter Ciara, Bo became involved as Belle and Shawn fought Philip for custody of Claire. He also tried to help Steve Johnson, newly returned to Salem, regain his memory. He also dealt with more problems with Chelsea as she was accused of setting a fire in his house. He decided to have faith in his daughter.
Bo and Steve head out to the Child Protective Services office to confront Beverly. Bo demands to see Claire and Beverly tells him she is being turned over to foster parents until the hearing. Steve has another episode and freaks out in the office! Beverly calls the cops. Bo restrains Steve and he snaps out of it. Bo urges Steve to see a shrink.
Billie tells Bo she fell off the wagon and he takes her to an AA meeting. She also confides she slept with a much younger man. Bo tells her a story of his own youthful encounter with an older woman and the confidence it gave him.
Bo, Hope and Kayla are at the pub for Sami's award ceremony. They try unsuccessfully to reach Shawn and Belle. Marlena arrives and tells them what the kids are planning. Bo wants to stop them, but Hope agrees with Marlena: they have no choice because Philip and Victor were planning to take Claire out of the country.
Steve asks Bo for a job with the Salem P.D. Bo reluctantly asks Steve to go down to Mexico City and try to persuade EJ to return to Salem to face prosecution. Steve accepts and Bo makes him promise to take Kayla with him just in case he has another episode.
After learning that Nick was "Lonely Splicer," Chelsea turns to Bo and Hope for comfort. Hope forgives Chelsea for all the pain she's caused and they bond. Bo learns that Patrick has confessed that Chelsea helped him to keep one step ahead of the cops. Bo is furious, and says he's through with Chelsea. She swears to him that Patrick is lying, but he kicks her out. Hope supports Chelsea, however, and wants Bo to forgive her. Bo is torn.
Billie pitches her home security system, "SentryCell," to EJ. He manipulates her into asking Bo to install a test run of the system so she can get an endorsement. He agrees, until Billie reveals that Mythic is involved. Billie ignores Bo's warnings that EJ is dangerous.
Willow sees EJ at Java Café and asks him for a job. Later, Billie tells EJ about Bo's refusal to install the security system. EJ thinks Bo will change his mind once someone in his neighborhood is robbed. Later, EJ offers to pay Willow big bucks if she'll break into Bo's house.
At the Penthouse Grill, Willow overhears Chelsea leave a message for Bo that she's on her way over to see him. Willow steals the hairbrush that Chelsea leaves behind in the bathroom. Chelsea goes to Bo's and, thinking no one is home, leaves a note.
Willow breaks into Bo's house and steals some jewelry. As she's leaving, she sets down a candle and the flame accidentally sets the curtains ablaze. Willow grabs the note Chelsea left and plants the hairbrush. Hope and Ciara escape from the burning house. Bo realizes the fire was not an accident. He and Billie are terrified that Chelsea is the cause of the fire.
Hope and Billie talk to Chelsea. Hope believes in her innocence re: the fire and breaks into Willow's room at the YWCA and discovers the stolen jewelry. Hope calls Bo with the news, but he says Chelsea is not off the hook until the DNA results come in on the hairbrush found at the scene of the crime. Chelsea makes a panicked phone call.
Bo confronts Steve about attacking EJ. Steve denies it. Bo tells Steve he can't protect him anymore. Later, Kayla tells Steve that since he broke his promise to take his meds, she is going to tell Stephanie everything.
Philip confronts EJ on the robbery of Bo's house. EJ reveals he is trying to get SentryCell installed in Bo's house to determine Shawn's whereabouts. Philip convinces EJ to help him break into Bo's house and install it. EJ and Philip pose as electricians and install SentryCell in Bo's house.
Chelsea gets a surprise when Bo apologizes for not being a better father; he's sure the hairbrush will prove Willow is guilty of setting fire to his house. He asks Chelsea to move in with him and Hope. Meanwhile, Nick admits to Abby that he stole Chelsea's hairbrush from the lab.
At Bo and Hope's house, Marlena helps Hope get ready to move back in. Marlena reveals that Belle called. Suddenly, they realize a man is in the house, but it turns out to be someone from the P.D. searching for bugs. When Bo returns, the man hands him a bag of tiny cameras and mics, from Billie's security system. Meanwhile, Philip scans the surveillance footage and hears Marlena talking about Tinda Lau.
Bo shows Billie the remnants of her security system and she thinks Philip is to blame. Bo runs to the phone to tell Belle and Shawn to get off the island at once – Philip is on his way!
Kayla and Stephanie tell Bo that Steve is ready to testify against EJ. Meanwhile, Dr. Granger has used electroshock therapy to get Steve back in line. When Bo arrives, Steve denies ever saying he'd turn on EJ. Kayla tells Bo she is losing her patience and wants to break Steve out of the hospital. Bo wants her to let him do this by the book.
Chelsea comes clean with Bo about the hairbrush and later at the police station, she and Nick explain the whole story to Roman. He believes them and throws the hairbrush away across the street. Bo tells Chelsea he believes her.
From Tinda Lau, Shawn contacts Bo and tells him that Philip took Claire. After a tender goodbye to Hope, Bo leaves. He organizes the search and gets Gabby to find a dog who can track Claire's scent. They realize they need access to a seaplane to catch Philip, Just then, they hear a plane land. Gabby goes to check it out and comes back saying the pilot is looking for Bo.
Adrienne brings Kayla a handgun. Kayla explains that Steve is not the man she loved, and she's going to Tinda Lau to ensure that he doesn't hurt Bo and Shawn – even if it means killing him.
Steve arrives on the island, insisting that he is mentally stable now and offering to help Bo and Shawn track down Philip. Bo calls Hope and tells her to find Kayla. Hope finds Adrienne who relates what Kayla said. Hope calls Bo and tells him Steve is in Tinda Lau to kill him and Shawn.
Shawn resists Bo's accusations that Steve is out to get them, but then Gabby shows up with a gun she found in Steve's room. Bo gets Shawn to sign the statement that EJ and Patrick were working together. Steve returns from gassing up the plane and Bo informs him that he and Shawn have decided to take a boat instead. Bo is forced to admit he can't trust Steve.
Bo tells Steve he believes EJ sent him to Tinda Lau to kill him and Shawn. Steve pulls the gun on Bo but turns it over to him and again offers to take Shawn to Philip's boat. Gabby comes out and says the tracking device is gone. Shawn will give Bo an hour to find Philip another way, then he's going with Steve.
Philip catches Belle on the radio just as she's revealing their destination. He smashes the radio. After Belle's contact via the radio, Shawn insists he go with Steve. Bo doesn't trust Steve but decides to go, as well. We see that Steve has a second gun. Steve drops Shawn in the ocean with a raft. He then asks Bo if he got Shawn to go on record about EJ. Bo admits he wants to nail EJ. Steve says he's sorry, but he can't let Bo do that. Shawn makes it to Philip's boat and hoists himself aboard.
In the plane, Steve pulls his gun on Bo and demands that he hand over Shawn's statement. He reveals that he still blames Bo for taking his eye when they fought over Britta. Bo manages to get the gun away but then Steve forces the plane into a nosedive, vowing to kill them both unless Bo complies. Bo agrees to give Steve the statement and they return to the Bikini Hotel. Once there, however, Bo refuses and Steve pulls a knife on him. Kayla arrives just in time and warns Steve he'll have to kill her to get to Bo. Steve rushes at Kayla but stops short and breaks down.
Philip's boat breaks up in the typhoon and Shawn, Belle and Philip are rescued and return to the Bikini Hotel, but Claire was nowhere to be found. Belle breaks down. A message comes over the radio that the rescue team has called off the search for Claire.
Sami tells her family about her attempt to cut a deal with the DiMeras. Bo convinces Sami to set EJ up and she calls him to the pub, where Bo tells him he's taking him down to the station. In private, EJ informs Sami that there is no deal, and now they are both in danger.
Bo takes EJ to the police station and he is stunned when John walks in. EJ tries to bargain with Bo, saying Sami's life will be in danger unless he can persuade Stefano to stop Tony.

It's to Stefano from his father, telling him of a woman, Colleen, whom he lost because of the Brady family. He wants his son to carry out his vendetta! They all wonder where to find info on Colleen and Santo. Hope wonders if the hidden tunnel under Doug's old place holds any answers. They plan to investigate.
Doug and Julie arrive at Bo and Hope's with the key to "Doug's Place. Once there, Bo finds a narrow shaft in the wall leading to the old tunnel and they hear a strange shriek – someone is down there! The voice in the tunnel coughs and cries for help, so Bo descends. When Hope calls out and there is no answer, she panics! Someone starts climbing up, but it's not Bo. The person wears black gloves and a ski mask, and when Hope tries to remove the mask, she's attacked. With Doug's help, Hope removes the mask to discover -- Lexie Carver! Hope asks what happened to Bo, and Lexie reports that he is dead! Lexie reveals that she hit Bo in the tunnel.
Hope climbs down and finds Bo unconscious. He wakes and they realize Stefano is behind this and search the tunnel for info on the vendetta. Hope finds a photo album with a picture of Colleen. Behind it is a key, which opens a music box. But to Bo and Hope's surprise, there is a ticking bomb inside. They've been set up!
Bo struggles to defuse the bomb and cuts one of the wires, as John descends into the tunnel to help. The bomb stops with one second left. Suddenly, it reactivates and explodes! Bo, Hope and John regain consciousness and lift a heavy shelf from Bo's leg. They realize the bomb wasn't meant to kill them, but it was a powerful warning to stop asking questions about Colleen. Bo goes to arrest Tony, who has been revealed to be Andre. Andre climbs on a rooftop ledge and falls, but not before admitting to Bo that the real Tony is being held prisoner on an island and there is a map. His last words are "Bart's back" when Bart arrives. After the fall, Andre does not die but is taken to the hospital and not expected to live. EJ thinks "Bart's back" is in fact the location of the map.
Roman arrives with Bart and they rip off his shirt, revealing a tattooed map. John volunteers to travel to look for Tony.
Bo summons Stefano to the pub. Stefano won't admit he knew that Andre had stolen Tony's identity. Grandpa Shawn arrives and Stefano tells him to tell Bo how he murdered his own sister. Meanwhile, Stefano is trying to scare Kate into confessing she shot EJ when Bo arrives. He tells Kate she's at the top of his suspect list. Lucas packs up his gun and ships it to himself. Bo wonders if Roman will use his friendship with Kate to get into her apartment, so he can search it for the gun. Kate meets Philip and is forced to admit she fired the gun but didn't hit EJ. Philip agrees to dispose of the gun.

Shawn calls his parents to announce his and Belle's wedding date. Hope wonders what Bo will say. Bo and Hope aren't immediately excited. In private, Shawn asks Bo if he has something against Belle. Bo denies.
Bo tells Hope it was Belle, not Philip, who sent the letter to the Academy about Shawn. Hope reveals to Bo that she heard the message Philip left for Belle on her cell. Bo wants to tell Shawn but Hope convinces him to wait. Bo warns that if he catches Belle in one more lie, that's it.

Roman and Abe learn Crystal's alias from Rob and discover she left with Claire on a flight to Ireland. Bo and Hope prepare to leave. They get physicals at the hospital before they go. Abe gives Hope her badge.
Kayla gets Bo's blood work back and is shocked by the results. She and Steve decide to head to Ireland to find Bo.
Once in Ireland, Bo and Hope show up at a bed and breakfast to find John, Marlena and a mystery woman, who they are shocked to see – Colleen! Later, Steve and Kayla tell Bo in private that he's very ill. Hope suspects something's up, but Steve advises her to give Bo some space.
Colleen is dying. She says goodbye to her family members and begs Grandpa Shawn's forgiveness and makes him swear to remember their childhood. Colleen says goodbye to John and asks him to hold her. She dies in his arms.
The Salemites gather on a hillside to honor Colleen's dying wish. Bo says a few words and the family scatters her ashes. At the inn, Steve sees a mystery woman outside the window; Kayla thinks it was a ghost. Later, John and Marlena are on the hill alone and we see the ghosts of Colleen and Santo walking off into the distance, arm in arm.
Everyone boards John's jet to fly back to Salem. Steve sees a mysterious woman he first saw at the inn. They take off. Bo's symptoms are worse and he tells Hope he's ill. Suddenly, the plane lurches. The pilots tell John the controls aren't working and the radio is out. They are losing cabin pressure but can't descend or dump their fuel!
It's starting to get cold in the jet. John finds the pilots passed out and Marlena realizes they were drugged. They do the math and figure they have two hours of flight time before they run out of fuel and can land.
After checking all the oxygen masks, they find both Kayla and Bo's don't work. They only have ninety minutes of air. Bo insists Hope and Grandpa Shawn take his mask and he passes out. Grandpa Shawn rips off his own mask and insists that Hope give it to Bo. Hope is in tears. She can't be the one to decide whether Bo or Grandpa Shawn should live. Grandpa Shawn gives his mask to Bo. Hope takes Kayla to the back of the plane where they watch Grandpa Shawn take his last breaths.
In the cockpit, John manages to dump the plane's fuel and they start to descend. Everyone prepares for a nose-first crash landing! We hear the sound of the crash and screaming and cut to black.
At crash site, everyone is okay except for Grandpa Shawn, who died from lack of oxygen, and the pilots. Bo is unconscious and Hope and Marlena work to revive him. Marlena gets Bo's heart started and he comes to. He mourns Grandpa Shawn. The next morning, John and Shawn hear a plane overhead and shoot the remaining flares. The crash survivors hear the sounds of a helicopter. They're going to be rescued!
Back in Salem, Bo is released from the hospital to attend Grandpa Shawn's funeral but he still does not have a diagnosis. At Shawn's wake, o admits to Hope he's about to collapse. Hope gets Steve to help Bo to the car and drive him to the hospital. Later, Ava confronts Hope, asking if she loves Steve. Hope reacts and Ava runs off. At the hospital, Bo crashes and Lexie is barely able to bring him back from the brink of death. She tells Bo's family that his pancreas is failing and if something isn't done soon, he'll die!
Bo wakes up and Hope tells him the diagnosis. He is devastated, thinking Shawn died in vain. Thankfully, he did not. With the help of a Dr. Jonas, an experimental procedure was performed involving a partial pancreatic transplant from Chelsea. It looks like Bo will be okay
